    NEW VERSION OF DEPENDABLE RIGHTS MANAGER POWERS INTERNATIONAL LICENSING WITH STRONGER FINANCIAL & CREATIVE FEATURES

    El Segundo, CA (August 1, 2010) - With the explosion of global licensing deals, Dependable Solutions, Inc. helps ensure that licensing professionals continue to gain the tools they need to prevent lost revenues.  The latest update of its flagship software, Dependable Rights Manager (DRM), offers major improvements in currency handling, licensed skus, activity workflows, and stronger creative tools for licensors, agents and licensees.

    International Financing Features

    DRM now has extended features to handle advanced functions for each territory including:

    • Ability to define the Withholding tax on each invoice to report taxes separately.
    • Guarantees now have specific currencies regardless of the currency denoted on the contract.
    • Ability, if a payment was made in foreign currency, to hover over the amount and see the home currency and rate used for the conversion.
    • Ability, if cash received is not in home currency, to add the spot rate when calculating the royalties due to a participant before processing the income.
    • Many DRM reports now have a parameter of "show in home currency."

    SKU Management

    Managing licensee product numbers is an ever-challenging task in every licensing department.  To help accommodate the tracking of licensee skus for detailed reporting and matching, DRM now allows you to:

    • Add SKUs quicker using a new mass "SKU Import" feature, critical to contracts with hundreds or thousands of reported sales numbers.
    • Within any statement, map a SKU to current SKU on all future royalty statements without leaving the statement processing function.
    • See what is selling and search for SKUs across multiple contracts, territories, markets and channels.

    Accounting Features

    Finance users can exploit new powerful invoice search and processing features such as:

    • Amortization scheduling into future periods.
    • GL Journals enhancement & posting to track where transactions land in the sub ledger.
    • Late payment invoicing to automatically calculate and send invoices for overdue AR.

    New Event-based Activity Logs with Integrated Workflows

    Activities with any business partner can be logged with scheduled reminders and tasks for everyone involved:

    • Activity Log items can be given deadlines, with close-out dates reported.
    • Activity Logs have the option of having additional tasks assigned to them, with specified users being allowed to close out items and add comments.
    • Activity Log files are available on the main welcome screen under companies and contacts, and through contracts.

    Creative Department Improvements

    The popularity of extending contract rights to product, advertising and creative approvals continues in DRM with specific function such as:

    • Effective submission response windows to remind DRM users when their task is due (including weekends and holidays).
    • With new submissions, ability to validate each form for required answers at each phase.
    • Submission content categories have an expiration date for seasonal images.
    • Approval activity log now captures more data on uploading, annotating and deleting images by each approver, entering or deleting samples and associated files on a workflow.
    • Variable Fields in submissions allow to change the order of fields easily, defining drop list of answers and when the field is fixed with no more modifications by the submitter.

    Better Image Handling

    • Images recently added show all new images in a separate area highlighting new content.
    • Additional image file types supported.
    • Ability to resize an image to more closely examine details.

    Stronger Navigation

    • Submission searches have been enhanced with advanced features for high volume organizations.
    • Graphical view of submissions offers a better way to review images and approvals onscreen.
    • Submission type "At-A-Glance" are color codes to help quickly determine what type of approval is viewed.
    • New graphical approval icons help quickly determine the status of each submission such as forwarding, non-reply, basic reviews, approved reviews and full reviews.

    New Reports

    New reports are continually added to DRM (now 120+) including:

    • SKU sales by product string
    • Cash Report in Home Currency
    • Contract performance report
    • Licensee List Main Licensor Contact
    • Main Contact List
    • Contract Changes report
